Raiders part with defensive boss Marshall
The Raiders will not renew the contract of defensive coordinator John Marshall.
Marshall’s contract expires on Tuesday. The Raiders reportedly considered bringing back Rob Ryan, but he appears ticketed for Dallas. (And definitely wouldn’t want to return to the Black Hole anyway.) According to the SF Chronicle, Marshall’s undoing was six games of 30 or more points allowed, and 29 touchdown passes surrendered. The Raiders can expect more where that came from if they lose Nnamdi Asomugha to unrestricted free agency.
