S Tom Zbikowski ruled out Week 15

Tom Zbikowski (back) has been ruled out of Baltimore’s Week 15 game, according to the Carroll County Times.

Our View: Coach John Harbaugh said it “looks bad” for the safety. If his MRI results show the expected damage, he could be placed on injured reserve.

Heap out for Sunday

Todd Heap (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Saints, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: This was expected so hopefully you have another TE option ready and waiting for this weekend.

McGahee misses practice Friday

Willis McGahee did not practice on Friday due to an illness, according to Ravens beat writer Aaron Wilson.

Our View: Fullback LeRon McClain also sat out due to illness. It does not sound like McGahee is in any danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Saints but he’s a poor fantasy option even if he plays. Outside of the occasional touchdown, you can’t count on anything meaningful from McGahee in terms of production. There’s no reason to start him unless Ray Rice gets hurt.

Mason returns to practice

Derrick Mason (ankle) returned to practice on Friday, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Our View: Mason is our No. 35 wide receiver for Week 15, but he has a tough matchup against one of the NFL’s pass defenses.

Heap misses another practice

Todd Heap (hamstring) remained out of practice on Friday, and he is “unlikely” to play in Week 15, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Our View: Ed Dickson will take over the pass-catching tight end role again, but he is not a good fantasy option against the Saints this Sunday.

Mason vows to play

Derrick Mason (ankle) told the Carroll County Times that he will definitely play in Week 15 against the Saints. He did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Our View: The Saints have allowed only eight passing touchdowns all season long, and they rank fifth in fewest passing yards allowed. Mason is, at best, a No. 3 receiver play for larger fantasy leagues this week.

Mason, Heap sit out Ravens practice

Derrick Mason (ankle) and Todd Heap (hamstring) were both non-participants in Ravens practice on Thursday, according to Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: Mason is expected to play this week, while Heap remains questionable. Verify both of their statuses before Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Mason’s sits out Ravens practice

Derrick Mason (ankle) did not participate in Ravens practice on Wednesday, according to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.

Our View: The veteran receiver has had an outstanding second half of the season, most recently posting a six-catch, two-score game in Week 14. Look for him to be active and stay hot against the Saints on Sunday.

Heap misses another practice

Aaron Wilson tweets that Todd Heap missed Wednesday’s practice due to a sore hamstring and remains questionable for Week 15. Ed Dickson would draw the start again if he is unable to go.

Our View: We wouldn’t bank on Heap against the Saints this weekend even if he is given the go. Same goes for Dickson. Seek other options.

Anquan Boldin held to 41 yards on three catches

Anquan Boldin was held to 41 yards on three catches in the Ravens’ 34-28 overtime win over Houston.

Our View: Boldin was targeted eight times, good enough for a tie for second on the team behind Derrick Mason, but he was covered up well by the much-improved Glover Quin, and he’s now gone for 50 yards or fewer in five of the team’s six games since their Week 8 bye.
